Accessibility Statement
What we are aiming for, what is already in place, what is not right yet, and how to tell us if something stops you.
1. Our commitment
KAB Projects wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard alone, rely on magnification or high contrast, or need reduced motion.
We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This statement sets out honestly where we are against that, what we know is not right yet, and how to tell us if you hit a barrier.
The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 apply to public sector organisations, and KAB is not one. We publish this statement voluntarily. What does apply to us is the duty to make reasonable adjustments under section 20 of the Equality Act 2010, and that duty is the reason this page exists.
2. How accessible this website is
We believe this website is largely conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. "Largely conformant" means it meets the standard in most respects, with the exceptions listed in section 4.
3. What is already in place
- A skip-to-content link on every page, so keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
- A single, correctly ordered heading structure per page, with no skipped levels.
- Descriptive alternative text on every image that carries meaning, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
- Named, labelled controls throughout — every link, button and form field has an accessible name.
- Form fields on the contact page with visible labels, not placeholder text standing in for a label.
- A light and a dark theme, both tested for text contrast, with your choice remembered.
- Full respect for
prefers-reduced-motion: if your device asks for reduced motion, the opening animation, the loading sequence, the parallax and the scroll animations are all switched off. - Content that does not depend on JavaScript to be readable — if the animation libraries fail, the words are still there.
- A page language declared in the markup, and a responsive layout that reflows to 320px and tolerates 200% zoom without loss of content.
- No cookie banner, no interstitial and no auto-playing audio.
4. Known limitations
We would rather list these than let you discover them.
- The opening animation on the home page. It plays once per visitor and can be dismissed with a click, a key press, a tap, a scroll or the "Skip intro" button. It does not appear at all if your device requests reduced motion. It is still a moving full-screen sequence on a first visit, and we recognise that some people will find it unwelcome.
- The photograph gallery on the offshore page. The lightbox is operable by keyboard and closes with Esc, but its focus handling has not yet been tested against a full range of screen readers.
- Fonts and libraries are loaded from third-party services. On a network that blocks them the page falls back to system fonts and static layout. Content remains readable, but the typography and spacing differ from the design.
- No formal audit has been carried out. The assessment behind this statement is our own, described in section 7.

6. Recruitment, not just this website
The same duty applies to how we recruit. If you need an adjustment at any point — an application in a different format, extra time, an interview held differently, or a support worker present — tell your consultant or email us. It will not count against you, and we will discuss with the client only what is necessary to put the adjustment in place.
7. Technical information and how we assessed this
This website is largely conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA, with the exceptions listed in section 4.
The assessment behind this statement was carried out by KAB Projects using automated checks and manual keyboard and screen-reader testing across the pages of the site. It has not been independently audited. We intend to commission an external audit as the site grows, and we will update this statement when we do.
8. What we are doing next
- Testing the gallery lightbox against a full range of screen readers and fixing what that turns up.
- Self-hosting the fonts and JavaScript libraries, so the site behaves the same on restricted networks.
- Commissioning an independent accessibility audit.
9. Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 25 August 2026. It is reviewed at least annually, and sooner if the site changes materially.
